Obtain route
Look for Chitmite through the wild encounter recorded in Tanglewood. Egg hatching is also supported by four listed sources, including Chitmite's Egg in the normal group and Chitmite's Shiny Egg in the shiny group. Both acquisition cards belong to this Bug-type base form.
No earlier creature evolves into Chitmite because the GCZ entry places it first in the Chitmite, Chitgladi, and Chitaladin sequence. After acquisition, its own evolution row provides the forward route at level 35. Evolution cost

Team decision
Chitmite is worth considering for access to several concrete utility effects in one learnset. It can lower Atk and Accuracy, recover through Bug Drain, erase enemy stat boosts with Poison Spike, and later restore HP plus Ultimate Energy through Energy Absorb. Poison and Venom Spray add a second offensive type to the Bug moves. Its stats are modest across the board, however, and both Fire and Flying are bad defensive matchups as well as types that resist its Bug attacks.
